Day 1 - Thursday, September 16th
Social Thinking Across the Home and School Day: The ILAUGH Model of
Social Cognition This workshop will explore in depth why students with social skills
difficulties have academic and executive function challenges which affect
them across home and school environments. Participants will learn functional
strategies that will make a meaningful difference to a child's social and
academic development.
Day 2 - Friday, September 17th
Thinking about YOU, Thinking about ME: Making the Social-Academic
Connection through Teamwork across the School and Home In this advanced workshop, participants will explore how learning about
their own social thinking is critical to developing the infrastructure for
students to meet the educational standards and how key these social thinking
concepts are to reading comprehension, written expression, solving math
problems, and more.
This workshop is for service providers, educators, families and caregivers,
speech pathologists, researchers, therapists and other health care
professionals who work with individuals who have difficulty with social
cognition such as those with Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS, moderate to high
functioning Autism, ADHD, and Non-verbal Learning Disabilities. |
